Who and Why?

Who are Hilda's Flying Ducks? We are a group of lads loving playing Indie covers music from the 70's, 80's, 90's and 00's that you would put on your playlist today, or would have put on your turntable back in the day.

Why the name Hilda's Flying Ducks?

Hilda Ogden was part of our growing up (three of the band grew up together) back in the 70' & 80's when Coronation Street was in its heyday and when we decided to get a band together again (post our kids growing up) in 2019 we were looking for a name and 'Hilda's Flying Ducks' was put forward. Everyone loved it. The reason it was chosen ...... We all loved Hilda (and still do 😁), she was iconic and so were her ducks on the 'Muriel'. Hilda is the lady we look up to and we (the band) are her Ducks 🦆. What we also know is that from the reaction we get to the name, many people still love Hilda.

How has it gone so far?

Exceeded all expectations - response has been phenomenal from people who watch us and from the venues who host us. There are a lot of wonderful people out there and we thank you all for your support as without yourselves it would not have been a quarter of the fun. We also thank you for your support through Facebook where you follow us, comment on posts and take part in our competitions.

What lies ahead?

We love getting out there seeing you all and continue to look to add more venues to reach as many people as we can in the North West. There is no better feeling than when everyone is dancing and singing along whilst with friends/people who like the same music having a drink or two. Overall, we are a group of lads loving playing music with the bonus of having people who support and join in with us..... and we just love that 😀
